Lindsay Barrie began to show an interest in home design at the young age of 4 when climbing a ladder outside his family home to take an inquisitive look at the home extension being built at the time. He pursued his passion though college, then moving on to start his first business MLDG in 2011. With a focus on a friendly down-to-earth and heart-felt customer connections and a high standard to improving the Brisbane building landscape.

The very first client MLDG had, wanted to undertake a full renovation of his house, to really build a place for his young family. Together we were able to take a rundown tired house and turn it in to a home. To this day we are still in regular contact with this client and can even be caught having the occasional drink together on a Friday afternoon. "

As a building designer, we are often asked, "What's the difference between a building designer and an architect?" In Queensland there is no difference in the work that can be done by a building designer as opposed to an architect.
There are some differences in education and regulation between the professions but these make little difference to their work output.
A building designer must be licensed by the Queensland Building Services Authority at a level suitable for the type of work to be undertaken.
For design and/or documentation you should only contract with a QBCC licensed building designer or a Board Registered architect or engineer. It’s your choice.
Others who offer to do design or documentation work are working illegally and this may jeopardise the chance of your project gaining the required approvals.
